Automotive starters, alternators and battery service
Whether you have Starting, Charging or low power concerns, Allied Motorworks offers free Battery, Start and Alternator testing. We will check the amperage and voltage on your Battery, check your Alternator's amp and voltage output, and check your starter. Sometimes a weak Battery causes other concerns due to low voltage and/or low amperage. Allied's Technicians will perform a Battery, Charging, & Starting test free of charge. As always we strive to provide a complete service and will also perform a 29 Point Safety Inspection with each visit.
If you'd like to learn more regarding your Automotive Starting System, the following describes many of the Starting and Charging Systems main components.
Your Car Starting System is comprised of four main components. We all know that the Car Battery is the main source of power to the vehicle. When the battery begins to fail, multiple issues can arise, from no-start conditions to electronic module issues to heat/cooling concerns. A failing Car Battery can also contribute to early failure on many other automotive parts. Having your Car Battery tested at least twice a year can protect you from Battery failure. A proper Car Battery Test can determine the amp load left in the Car Battery. The Ignition Switch allows power to flow thru to all accessories, fuel pumps, starters, dashboard and all other vehicle needs for power. When your ignition switch has failed or intermittently fails, your car may exhibit various failures, dashboard lights, and multiple other issues.
